Gold Collagen is a London brand that has been making liquid collagen drinks since 2011. It's owned by Minerva Research Labs, and the founder, Tony Sanguinetti, started with a single formula; the range now sells in many countries, and the brand says more than 50 million products have been sold worldwide.

The drinks come as small daily bottles or sachets that you take once a day. Each combines hydrolysed marine collagen with vitamins, minerals and plant extracts, and the formulas differ mainly in how much collagen they contain and what else is in the mix. They suit people who already take a daily supplement and would rather drink it than swallow tablets. All of them contain fish, and some list soy or crustaceans, so check the allergen information on each product page.

What's worth a look

These are the main drinks in the range. Prices shown are for the 30-day subscription, with the full price the site shows next to them.

The newest is Forte Liquid, which comes in 25ml sachets rather than bottles, with 8,000mg of marine collagen per sachet. It's also the cheapest way into the range, at £41.79 a month on a 30-day plan. At the other end, Forte Ageless is the brand's most concentrated formula, with 12,000mg of collagen plus elastin, ceramides and hyaluronic acid in each 50ml bottle.

Online, the drinks are sold on subscription. You choose a 30-day or 90-day plan, and you can pause or cancel online, as long as you give 72 hours' notice before the next payment.

How to save more

• If you're sure you'll keep going, the 90-day plan works out cheapest per day. Forte Liquid drops from £1.39 a day on the 30-day plan to £1.09 on the 90-day plan, though you pay £98.51 up front every three months.
• Join Gold Collagen Rewards before you order. You get 150 points after your first purchase and a point for every £1, and 100 points is £5 off an order of £50 or more.
• Set a reminder a few days before each subscription payment, so you have time to skip or change an order within the 72-hour window.

For every bottle sold on its UK site, Gold Collagen donates a school meal through the charity Mary's Meals. Unopened items can be returned within 14 days, and UK return postage is refunded.
