Lightning Fibre is a broadband provider based in Eastbourne that builds and runs its own full fibre network. The fibre runs all the way into your home instead of switching to old copper phone lines at a street cabinet, which is why its packages offer the same speed for uploads as for downloads.
It only serves the towns its network reaches: Eastbourne and Polegate, Hastings and St Leonards, Hailsham, Heathfield and Broad Oak, and Tenterden, with more streets being added. So it suits households and small businesses in those areas who want fast broadband, a phone number answered by a team in Sussex, and a price that won't jump each April. You'll need to put your postcode into the checker on the site before you can order.
Prices are fixed for the length of your contract, with no annual price rises. The 24-month plans include free installation and a router with parental controls, and you don't need to pay for a landline.

The pick for most busy homes is Full Fibre 1Gbps, which averages 900Mbps both ways and comes with a WiFi 7 router. On a 24-month contract, new customers pay £19 a month for the first six months, then £32 for the other 18. If you want even faster speeds, the 2.5Gbps plan has the same six-month introductory price, then goes up to £39.
If you only browse and stream, Full Fibre 300Mbps is £25 a month on a 24-month plan, with free installation. Shorter 12-month and one-month rolling contracts are also available, but they cost more each month and come with an installation fee.
Current offers
- £19 a month for six months: on the 1Gbps and 2.5Gbps 24-month plans for new customers, rising to £32 and £39 afterwards. Free installation.
- Refer a friend: when someone signs up for a 24-month home plan using your code, you both get £25, and there's no limit on referrals.
- Social tariff: 50Mbps for £15 a month, with no set-up fee, for households on benefits such as Universal Credit, Pension Credit or Jobseeker's Allowance.
How to save more
- Choose a 24-month plan if you can. It's the only option with free installation, the lowest monthly prices and the six-month introductory deal, and the price is fixed for the whole contract.
- If a neighbour is already a customer, ask for their referral code before you order. The code has to be used when you place the order, not afterwards.
- Found a cheaper full fibre deal? Lightning Fibre says it will try to match it, so ask before you sign up.
