Pure Nails is a professional nail supplier based in Gillingham, Kent, and the home of the Halo brand, which it describes as developed by nail techs, for nail techs. As well as selling online, it supplies more than 200 cash-and-carry stockists in the UK and Europe, and it runs nail training courses with certification.

This is a trade shop. Its terms say the products are meant for qualified nail technicians aged 16 and over, so it suits salon owners, mobile and home-based techs, and students on a nail course, rather than someone after a bottle of polish for a home manicure. One thing to know straight away: prices on the site are shown without VAT, with the VAT-inclusive price in brackets. We've used the VAT-inclusive prices below, because that's what you'll pay.

What's worth a look

These are some of the current best sellers, with today's prices including VAT.

The Halo Premium Essentials Bundle is the obvious starting point if you're setting up or restocking a desk. It brings together 12 everyday items, including base coat, non-wipe top coat, French White gel polish, acetone, brush cleaner, files, nail wipes, cuticle oil and a desk mat, with a 15% discount already built into the price. For colour, Halo Gel Polish comes in 8ml bottles at £7.14, while the 12ml Halo Gel Polish Plus range is £13.74. Newer shades such as Toasty are HEMA-free and TPO-free.

Beyond polish, the shop covers Polibuild poly gel, Easibuild builder gel, acrylic, hard gel and Jellie Tips, plus UV/LED lamps, e-files, dust extractors, nail art and starter kits for each system.
