NOVO is a British camera support and accessories brand owned by UK Optics Ltd, a photographic retailer in Clitheroe, Lancashire, that has been trading since 1998. NOVO launched at The Photography Show in 2016. Its products are designed in the UK and made by a small number of specialist manufacturers, and you buy direct from the brand's own website or its Clitheroe showroom.

It suits enthusiast and working photographers who want sturdy carbon fibre kit without paying for the biggest names, and it's useful for birders and wildlife watchers too: there are scope heads, a binocular harness and macro arms alongside the tripods. NOVO says its MP100 monopod, MPH-10 head and Helix T200 kit won Editor's Choice awards from ePhotozine.

What's worth a look

Here are six products from the current range, with prices as shown on the site.

The Mantis T3 bundle is a neat travel option at £99.90: the compact carbon fibre tripod comes with a column extender and an MBH-20 ball head, so you can raise the camera higher without packing a full-size tripod. If you want something bigger, the Helix T200 with the MPH-10 scope head costs £349 and suits spotting scopes and video work.

The smaller items are worth a look too. Filters are a cheap way to change how your photos look: a polariser cuts glare on water and deepens blue skies, and a six-stop ND filter lets you use long exposures in daylight for smooth waterfalls and seascapes. The BHS100 binocular harness at £14.90 takes the weight of binoculars off your neck on long walks. The site also sells camera backpacks, straps, accessory pouches and hard cases, plus spare parts such as replacement tripod feet, which can save replacing a whole tripod.

Current offers

We don't have any NOVO codes yet, but the homepage's Latest Offers section has some real reductions. The Excel Pro 82mm ND64 six-stop filter is £22.90 instead of £49.90, and the 62mm circular polariser is £24.90 instead of £34.90. Other polariser sizes are cut too, including 43mm at £21.90 and 67mm at £29.90. Standard delivery to mainland UK is free on orders over £100.

How to save more

• Buy a bundle rather than separate parts: the Helix kits with a head and the Mantis T3 bundle cost less than building the same setup piece by piece.
• Keep your order above £100 for free mainland UK delivery. Below that, standard delivery starts at £3.95.
• If you live near Clitheroe, use the free click and collect service and wait for the email saying your order is ready before you travel.
