Reboxed is a London company that buys, checks and resells used phones and other tech. It started in 2019, set up by two people from the consumer electronics industry who wanted buying second-hand to feel less of a gamble. Every device goes through a 70-point check by Reboxed's own engineers, then it's sold in a cosmetic grade with a 12-month warranty.

It suits anyone who wants a recent iPhone, Samsung Galaxy or Google Pixel without paying the new price, and parents buying a first phone for a teenager. The range runs from the iPhone 11 to the latest Pro models, Galaxy S, Z Flip and Z Fold phones and Pixels, plus iPads, Galaxy Tabs, Apple Watches and AirPods. Delivery is free to UK addresses, and the site only sells to the UK.

Prices change with the grade (Good, Great, Excellent or Pristine), the colour and the storage, so the same model can vary by a fair bit. Each listing shows the new price alongside, which helps you see the saving.

The 70-point check, which Reboxed calls TechCheck, covers locks, battery, connectivity, authentication, functions and cosmetics, so a phone shouldn't arrive still tied to someone else's account. Read the grade description on each listing to see what cosmetic wear to expect, and remember the 12-month warranty applies whichever grade you choose. Reboxed also plants five trees and pays to offset the lifetime carbon emissions of each phone it sells, which is part of its pitch for buying refurbished over new.

The iPhone 13 128GB is one of the cheapest ways into a recent iPhone: £248.39 in pink, Great grade, against a £449 new price. If you'd rather have Android, the Google Pixel 8 Pro 256GB in Great condition is £420, well under its £1,059 new price.

How to save more

• Compare grades before you buy. A Good or Great grade costs less than Excellent or Pristine for the same phone, and the difference is cosmetic.
• Sell your old phone through Reboxed's trade-in service at the same time, so you're not left with a spare handset in a drawer.
• Check the colour and storage carefully: a change-of-mind return is free to post but £10 is taken off your refund.
