Dunas Hotels & Resorts is a Canarian hotel company based in Maspalomas, in the south of Gran Canaria. It grew from the plans of local businessman Ángel Luis Tadeo Tejera, who in 1989 opened Maspalomas Villas and Dunas Maspalomas, two low-rise resorts that set the tone for the group's style of bungalows and villas spread through gardens rather than tower blocks. The company celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2011, and its dolphin logo is well known on the island.
Today the official site lists five hotels, all in the south of the island: Maspalomas Villas by Dunas (four-star superior, adults only), Suites & Villas by Dunas (four-star, near the Maspalomas Dunes), Don Gregory by Dunas (four-star, adults only, on San Agustín beach), Maspalomas Resort by Dunas (four-star bungalows in gardens) and Mirador Maspalomas by Dunas (three-star, all-inclusive and family-focused). Between them they cover families, couples, cyclists, golfers and guests who need gluten-free food.
Rooms are booked direct on hotelesdunas.com in euros, with free-cancellation and pay-now rates, a best price guarantee and the free Dunas Club loyalty scheme. The group also sells a day pass at Mirador Maspalomas, gift cards that can be used at any of its hotels, a long-stay discount and a senior offer for guests over 65.
| Delivery | Rooms are booked online in euros. On the free-cancellation rate you normally pay at the hotel, while prepaid (Pay Now) bookings are charged to your card before arrival. |
|---|---|
| Returns | Free-cancellation bookings can be cancelled at no cost at least 4 days before arrival; later cancellations are charged 100%. Prepaid Pay Now bookings are non-refundable, and a no-show is charged one night. |
| Price match | Best Online Price Guarantee: if you find the same stay cheaper on another website within 24 hours of booking, email [email protected] and Dunas will match it (difference must be over €5; package, group and member-only rates excluded). |
|---|---|
| Loyalty scheme | Dunas Club is free to join and gives 5% off from the first stay, 10% from the second stay and 12% once you have spent €15,000, plus discounts with partner businesses at the hotels. |
| Ways to pay | Card details are needed to book and the booking card must be shown at check-in; bank transfer is accepted on some bookings and the site says you can pay in instalments with PayPal. |
