About Field Doctor
Field Doctor is a UK company that cooks frozen ready meals in its own kitchen in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, and delivers them to homes across the country. The meals are designed by an in-house dietitian working with a chef team, and the company describes its approach as science-led, using locally sourced, seasonal produce cooked in small batches and then flash frozen.
There are more than 60 meals to choose from, mostly single-portion dishes such as teriyaki salmon with wholegrain rice, chicken tagine, coq au vin and a potato-topped chicken pie, at about £7.50 to £8.80 each. The menu is grouped into ranges, including gluten free, low FODMAP, high protein, lower carb, Mediterranean and vegetarian options, and a short quiz suggests a menu based on your tastes and needs. Most of the meals are gluten free and nut free.
You can order a one-off box or set up a subscription and choose a delivery every one to eight weeks, then swap meals, skip or pause whenever you like. Meals arrive frozen in insulated packaging and go straight in the freezer, and most can be cooked from frozen in a few minutes. Field Doctor also sells e-gift cards and offers a free printed menu brochure.
