About Forestalgia
Forestalgia is a London design studio founded by Emmanuel Lawal. It works across furniture, jewellery and accessories, and has shown work at events including London Design Biennale and Frieze, as well as collaborating with other brands. Lawal was named a Design Council 25 for 2025 Trailblazer.
Its online shop currently sells Orbit, a circular hair comb designed in London. The round shape is meant to give a better grip and help with styling larger sections of hair, and a magnetic snap closes it up for carrying in a bag. There are three versions: Neptune (an afro comb), Mercury (wide-tooth) and Jupiter (fine-tooth), each made from recycled acetate in a black and orange tortoiseshell finish.
Each comb can be engraved with initials for an extra charge, which makes it a reasonable option as a personal gift. Orders ship from London to the UK and many other countries, and the company behind the studio, Forestalgia Ltd, was registered in 2023.
