About GUSTATORY
GUSTATORY is a speciality coffee subscription run from the United Kingdom. Rather than roasting its own beans, it curates coffees from a rotating line-up of independent roasters in cities such as Barcelona, Copenhagen, Edinburgh, Berlin, Melbourne, Budapest and Amsterdam, imports them, and sends them out together as one monthly delivery. If you take more than one bag, each comes from a different roaster, and you can set taste preferences so the picks lean towards what you like.
There are several subscription tiers. PERCENT is the value option built on roasters' house coffees, Selected Mix is a varied introduction, Plus 87 features coffees scored 87 or more out of 100, and there are Premium, Bloom (newer indie roasters), Rest of World, single origin, darker blend and decaf plans, plus coffee pods and SOLO concentrate. Monthly tasting notes are published in the site's Journal & School.
Beyond coffee, the shop sells brewing equipment and machines from brands including Sage, Wilfa, Hario, Chemex, AeroPress, ESPRO, Fellow and xBloom, along with Nuditea teas and matcha, Islands hot chocolate, Pamban chai and oat milk that can be added to a delivery. There is also a small range of coffee-themed T-shirts, hoodies, caps, tote bags and art prints. GUSTATORY says it uses plain, unprinted recycled boxes to cut packaging waste.
