About Helme Mädl
Helme Mädl is an online helmet shop run by Stefan Mädl from Weiden in der Oberpfalz, Bavaria. The Mädl family business dates back to 1852 in Weiden, and the specialist helmet shop has been going since 2007. It also runs motorrad-helme.com, a German-language comparison and advice site that lines up helmets from the shop's range side by side; the site says openly that the shops it links to belong to the same business.
The range centres on motorcycle helmets: full-face, flip-up, jet, streetfighter and motocross helmets from brands including Bandit, Sting and Broken Head, Mädl's own label. It also sells ski and snowboard helmets, helmet-and-goggle sets, MX goggles, visors, intercoms and some riding clothing such as aramid-reinforced jeans. Product pages list sizes by head circumference, and there's an online helmet adviser and live advice to help with fit.
The shop is in German and prices are in euros including German VAT. Its shipping page lists the United Kingdom among the countries it delivers to, for €18.50 per order by DPD or DHL, though its FAQ only mentions EU countries and Switzerland, so check that the checkout accepts your address. As the parcel comes from Germany, UK import VAT or other charges may apply.
Helme Mädl delivery and returns
| Delivery | Germany €4.90 by DPD or €6.90 by DHL; other listed countries, including the United Kingdom, €18.50 by DPD or DHL, with a €20 surcharge for islands. In-stock items usually dispatch within 1-3 working days. |
