Helme Mädl is a family-run helmet specialist in Weiden, Bavaria. The Mädl name goes back to 1852 in the town, and the dedicated helmet shop has been running since 2007. It concentrates on motorcycle helmets, from streetfighter and full-face designs to jet and motocross helmets, and adds ski and snowboard helmets, goggles, visors and some riding clothing. Broken Head is its own label. It also runs motorrad-helme.com, a German comparison site for helmets from its range, and says openly that the shops it links to belong to the same business.

The site is in German and prices are in euros, including German VAT. Its shipping page lists the United Kingdom among the countries it delivers to, at €18.50 per order, but the FAQ only mentions EU countries and Switzerland, so check the checkout accepts your address before you set your heart on a helmet. Parcels come from Germany, so UK import VAT or handling charges may be added. It suits riders who want a less common helmet brand and don't mind ordering from abroad.

What's worth a look

Six picks from Mädl's motorcycle and ski ranges.

The Bandit Jet Premium in matt black is the cheapest of these at €119 and has a sun shield, while Broken Head's BeProud Pro Sport full-face helmet in red is €219. With ski season starting, the OSBE Atlas ski helmet with a built-in inner visor is €229. Every product page lists sizes by head circumference in centimetres, and the shop has a page explaining the ECE helmet standard.

Fit is everything with a helmet, and Mädl puts real effort into helping. There's an online Helmberater that asks how and where you ride, a live advice service, and a long FAQ covering sizing, visors, Pinlock inserts and care. In-stock items usually leave within one to three working days, though some helmets on order show longer delivery times, so check the line under the price before you buy.

Current offers

We don't have a Helme Mädl code yet. The shop's own sale section had reductions when we checked, including the Bandit Alien II Carbon at €249 (down from €298, with very limited stock) and the Sting Graffiti full-face helmet at €149 (down from €219, 4-6 weeks' delivery). Sale stock is limited and prices can change.

How to save more

  • Measure your head before ordering and use the free Helmberater helmet adviser, because returning a helmet to Germany is at your own cost.
  • UK delivery is a flat €18.50 per order, so buy a helmet and spare visor or goggles together rather than in separate orders.
  • Check the price in pounds at checkout or with your card provider, and use a card without foreign transaction fees if you have one.

Products, prices and offers checked on the store's own website on 23 Oct 2026. Prices and stock can change.
