About Robert Dyas
Robert Dyas sells household essentials, kitchen appliances, cookware, DIY tools, cleaning products, garden furniture and barbecues. It has 93 stores across the south of England, and its website delivers to most of mainland Britain.
The business dates from 1872, when Robert Dyas, who had moved from County Meath in Ireland, opened his first ironmongery shop in London. The chain survived heavy losses during the Blitz and a fire at its distribution centre in 1997. Entrepreneur Theo Paphitis bought it in 2012, and its support centre is in Wimbledon.
Standard delivery starts at £2.95, and the site prints a code for free standard delivery on orders over £40. Many lines can be collected free from a store in as little as an hour. The free MyDyas membership gives member-only prices and earns a point per £1 spent, while students get 10% off in store with a student ID. Customers can also spread the cost with Klarna or PayPal Pay in 3.
