Slate House Discount Codes for October 2026
TammyAbout Slate House
Slate House is a small Welsh manufacturer that cuts, engraves and prints Welsh slate at its own workshop in Resolven, near Neath. The slate comes from quarries in North Wales, and the range covers cheese boards, coasters, placemats, wall clocks, Christmas decorations, house signs, memorials and trophies, with many items open to personalisation.
The business began in 2007, when founder Kevin Thomas, an ex-Royal Engineer, bought a laser engraver and started making slate goods at home, selling at weekend markets around Hay-on-Wye, Abergavenny and Monmouth. It grew into workshops and high-street shops in Neath and Swansea under the Valley Mill name, then rebranded as Slate House in 2023 after a difficult period that closed its high-street stores.
Today it works from a 200 square metre workshop with a small shop front in Resolven. Products are personalised with laser engraving, sandblasting for deep-cut signs and memorials, and, since 2026, full-colour UV printing directly onto slate. Lead times depend on the item: about 3 days for standard homeware, 5 for personalised pieces, 10 for house signs and 15 for memorials.
