Staysure was founded in 2004 by Ryan Howsam, who wanted to offer over-50s in the UK travel insurance that covered pre-existing medical conditions. It's now the best-known brand in the privately owned Staysure Group, which says it employs over 700 people, and its sister brands include Avanti Travel Insurance and Petgevity pet insurance. The business is run from Britannia House in Northampton.
Policies come in three cover levels, Basic, Comprehensive and Signature, as single-trip, annual multi-trip and long-stay cover, with Europe and worldwide options. Optional extras include cruise cover, winter sports, golf, gadget cover, travel disruption and excess waiver, and there are no upper age limits. Policyholders also get Travel Doctor, a service for booking English-speaking doctors abroad by video or in person, limited to three appointments per person per policy and not available for UK trips.
Staysure is a trading name of TICORP Limited (registered in Gibraltar, company 111526), which arranges the insurance. TICORP is authorised and regulated by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission and trades into the UK on a freedom of services basis, Financial Conduct Authority FRN 663617. Policies are administered by Howserv Limited of Northampton (company 03882026), authorised and regulated by the FCA, FRN 599282. Read the policy wording and the cover limits for your chosen level before you buy, as limits and excesses differ between Basic, Comprehensive and Signature.
