BabyMonitorsDirect: baby monitors, stair gates and nursery kit

Shopping at BabyMonitorsDirect? See all current BabyMonitorsDirect discount codes and deals, checked regularly.

BabyMonitorsDirect is a UK shop, based in Langtoft near Peterborough, that started with baby monitors and now covers much of the nursery. You'll find video monitors, sensor-pad breathing monitors, stair gates, bed rails, blackout blinds and highchairs, from brands such as Nanny and LeapFrog plus its own Callowesse range. It suits new parents kitting out a nursery, and anyone childproofing the house as a baby starts to crawl.

The site is organised by product type, so it's easy to compare monitors side by side, and most product pages list the features in plain terms.

The Nanny BM-02 breathing monitor uses a sensor pad under the mattress rather than a camera, so it's for parents who want movement alerts rather than a picture. If you'd rather see your baby, the LeapFrog LF915HD has a 5-inch screen, colour night vision and a camera you can pan and tilt.

For the rest of the house, the Callowesse Air2 stair gate retracts out of the way when it's open, and the LightsOut pop-up blinds are a cheap fix for bright summer evenings or a nap away from home. The Elata highchair is worth a look if you want one chair to last: it starts as a highchair from six months and converts into a booster seat and then a toddler chair, so it keeps its place at the table for longer.

If you're choosing between video monitors, the Callowesse SmartView HD works over Wi-Fi and has an extra-large touch screen, while the LeapFrog comes with its own 5-inch screen. Check the stock note on each page before you set your heart on one, as popular models can sell out during the sale.
