Foxydry: Italian drying racks that get laundry off the floor

If your drying routine involves stepping round a floor-standing airer for half the week, Foxydry is aimed squarely at you. It's an Italian brand, run by Cometa S.r.l. near Treviso, that founder Luca Antoniazzi started in 2015 to move laundry up onto the ceiling or flat against the wall. Design, production and customer service are all handled in Italy, but the UK site shows prices in pounds and shipping here is free, with no customs fees or duties added at the door.

The range suits flats, small houses and anyone with a utility room or bathroom that has spare ceiling space. At the top end are motorised ceiling racks with a remote control, LED lighting and fans. Further down are simple manual racks that lower on a pulley and folding wall-mounted racks that need no electricity at all. There's also a balcony rack that fits without drilling and a vacuum ironing board, for people who'd like ironing to take up less space too.

What's worth a look

Here are six models from across the range, from the flagship heated airer to the compact wall rack.

The Foxydry Mini is the easy way in: a manual ceiling airer that lowers to your height, holds up to 10kg and doesn't need an electrician. If you want something you can leave in place permanently, the motorised Foxydry Air holds up to 35kg and uses two fans to keep air moving round wet clothes. The Pro adds warm airflow on top of that. Both motorised models need wiring in like a ceiling light, and Foxydry doesn't offer an installation service, so it's worth getting a quote from an electrician first if you're not confident doing it yourself.

Current offers

We don't have any Foxydry voucher codes at the moment, but there are a few savings on the site itself:

• Free UK shipping on every order, with no extra customs charges.
• Certified refurbished racks: the Foxydry Air was £389.70 (save £40) and the Foxydry Pro £549.70 (save £50), both with the same two-year warranty as new.
• Small reductions on new models, including the Fold at £79.70 (was £89.70) and the Mini at £139.70 (was £149.70).

How to save more

• Check the refurbished page before buying new. These are showroom and photo-set units that have been tested, and they come with the same 30-day returns, but stock is limited.
• Pick carefully the first time. You pay the postage to send a rack back to Italy, so use the model compare page and the quiz, and measure your ceiling height before ordering.
• Got a sloping or very high ceiling? Foxydry sells a wire kit for the Air and Pro, which is cheaper than fitting a whole new rack.
