Gotraka is an online computer shop run by Tanna's Ltd, a London company that has been trading since 1998. It sells the kind of kit PC builders and upgraders go looking for, from processors, graphics cards and RAM to SSDs, hard drives and power supplies. It also stocks monitors, headsets, keyboards, laptops and a big networking range with mesh Wi-Fi, switches and access points for home and small business setups.

The shop's own brand is GTR Gaming, which sells ready-built gaming PCs and custom builds put together in the UK. Each build is tested before dispatch and comes with three years' support. That makes Gotraka handy for two kinds of buyer: people who know exactly which part they want, and people who'd rather tell someone their budget and the games they play and let them do the specifying.

Delivery is quick if you need a part in a hurry. Order before 3pm on a weekday and next-working-day delivery is available, while orders over £99 go free on a two-to-three-day service. GTR Gaming PCs are built and shipped within five working days. Gotraka uses DPD and Royal Mail, won't leave parcels in a safe place, and asks you to report transit damage within three days. The company also says it runs its warehouse and offices on 80% sustainable energy, if that matters to you when choosing where to buy tech. Business buyers can apply for a credit account.

What's worth a look

A few popular upgrades, a prebuilt GTR Gaming PC and the custom-build service.

If your PC still boots from an old hard drive, an NVMe SSD such as the Kingston KC3000 512GB is one of the most noticeable upgrades you can make, as long as your motherboard has an M.2 slot. Building around an older AM4 board? The AMD Ryzen 5 5600 comes with a cooler and was reduced from £169.56 to £126.36.
