P1 Travel began in 2007 with two friends selling tickets outside stadiums. Today it's an online ticket company with over 100 staff, run by a Dutch firm, P1 Corporate Hospitality B.V., with a London postal address for UK customers. It sells tickets and hospitality packages for football across Europe, Formula 1 and MotoGP weekends, Six Nations rugby, tennis, big boxing nights and concerts.

P1 says its tickets come from its own stock, bought from clubs and organisers, and calls itself an official reseller for many of them. It suits fans planning a trip around a match or race, especially abroad, since you can add a hotel at checkout. Groups and businesses can also ask the Premium Hospitality team for VIP packages. On the UK site, prices are shown in pounds per person.

Two things to know before you book. Tickets usually arrive by email only one to three days before the event, because P1 waits for organisers to release them. And orders are final, with no changes or refunds, although the Event Guarantee keeps tickets valid for a postponed date and gives a credit voucher if an event is cancelled.

What's worth a look

These events from November onwards show what's on offer, from grandstand weekends to full hospitality.

The Abu Dhabi GP three-day ticket stands out right now. The season finale runs from 4 to 6 December and is marked 27% off, from £337 per person instead of £500, with theme park access included and mobile tickets. The Qatar night race at Lusail a week earlier starts from £117 per person for a three-day ticket. Closer to home, Fury vs Joshua at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on 11 December has off-site hospitality packages from £252 per person, with a welcome drink, VIP lounge access and small bites.

How to save more

• Compare ticket-only with a hotel package. P1 shows hotels from £69 per person on F1 pages, but you don't have to book one to buy a ticket.
• Look beyond the biggest clubs. Serie A and La Liga fixtures often start at a fraction of Premier League prices.
• Double-check names, dates and seat categories before paying, as P1 can't cancel or refund orders.
