Store spotlight: Pott'd, craft kits for pottery and painting at home

Pott'd is a London craft brand run by Pott'd Creations Limited. Its founder, Frankie, says the idea came out of the 2020 lockdown, when the team went looking for creative things to do at home, and the brand took off once they discovered air dry clay in 2021. It now sells a range of kits that put everything you need in one box: clay or blank mugs and glasses, paints, brushes, tools and video guides to follow along with.

It suits anyone who fancies having a go at pottery without a wheel or a kiln, couples looking for a night in that isn't another film, and people hunting for a present for someone creative. The kits are aimed at beginners, and the air dry clay means your finished pieces harden on their own rather than needing to be fired.

What's worth a look

Here are a few kits from the Pott'd site, with the prices shown when we looked in late October.

The Home Pottery Kit is the place to start. It's the brand's best-known kit and was £44 when we checked, down from £69. If you'd rather decorate than sculpt, the Paint-a-Wine Glass x2 kit comes with two or four glasses, translucent and opaque enamel paints, brushes, paint pens and step-by-step videos.

For the run-up to Christmas, the Gingerbread Bakery: 2026 Advent Calendar hides a craft project behind each door, including Paintables projects, air dry clay and polymer clay pieces, foam dough decorations and two stands to assemble. The Tea & Biscuit Coaster Kit is a fun one for tea lovers, with clay, biscuit stamp cutters, sculpting tools, paints, base coat and gloss varnish to make coasters shaped like biscuits.

Beyond the main kits there are smaller foam dough collectibles, refills of clay and paint for when you run out, and bundles for two or for a group. Pott'd also runs team events for workplaces, which is worth knowing if you're organising a Christmas social.
