Radical Storage: book a place to leave your bags in 2,300+ cities

Radical Storage solves a familiar travel problem: what to do with your bags between check-out and a late train, or for a few hours in a city before your hotel room is ready. It started in Rome in 2016, when founder Alessandro Seina began minding Airbnb guests' luggage in his office. It is now run by the Italian company Lean Team S.r.l. and lists more than 16,000 storage points in over 2,300 cities.

Your bags are held by local businesses, such as shops, cafés and hotels, or put in self-service lockers in some cities. You search on the website or app, choose a location and dates, and pay online. Walk-ins and cash aren't accepted. The exact address comes with your confirmation, and you show a QR code to drop off and collect. The partner photographs your bags at drop-off, and every booking carries a €1.99 per-bag fee that covers 24/7 support and a guarantee of up to €10,000 per bag. It suits day-trippers, people with a late flight after a city break, and anyone travelling between hotels with heavy cases.

What's worth a look

Here are six city pages, four in the UK and two popular European breaks, with the starting prices shown on each.

London has the largest choice in the UK, with 793 locations listed, including spots near the main stations, from £1.90 per bag per day. Edinburgh and Manchester both have around 100, which helps on festival weekends and match days when hotels insist on early check-outs. For trips abroad, Paris and Rome pages show euro prices, with Rome starting from €1.60.

Prices depend on bag size, so a small backpack costs less than a large suitcase or a bike. The exact price is shown before you pay.

Current offers

• From £1.90 a day in UK cities: London, Edinburgh, Manchester and York pages all start from £1.90 per bag per day, plus the €1.99 per-bag guarantee fee.
• Free cancellation: cancel at any time before your drop-off time for a full refund, or edit the booking up to drop-off.
• Partner deals: some storage points offer extras for Radical Storage customers, such as discounted products or services, shown on your booking page.

How to save more

• Rates run from midnight to midnight, so collecting after midnight adds another day's charge. Plan overnight storage with that in mind.
• Book each bag at the right size rather than listing everything as large. Each item is charged separately, and smaller bags cost less.
• Since cancellation is free, book ahead for busy stations or event weekends, then cancel if your plans change.
