Stamps4u.co.uk is an online stamp shop with its customer service team in Paisley. It's part of a German-owned group that runs stamp shops across Europe and in Canada. Most of what it sells is made to order: you design a stamp in the online tool, or upload your own layout, and it's made up and posted out. It suits small businesses that need address, logo or loyalty card stamps, teachers and healthcare staff who need work stamps, and anyone after a personal gift or a quicker way to get through the Christmas cards.

The range runs from Trodat self-inking text, date and number stamps to embossing seals, replacement ink pads, stickers, name badges and craft supplies. In the run-up to Christmas, the seasonal section is the one to look at.

If writing cards takes up an evening every December, the Customisable Christmas Card Stamper lets you stamp your own message and names instead. It's currently on sale at £7.84, down from £13.49. For families with young children, the North Pole Elf Christmas Stamp comes ready-made with the message "North Pole, International Elf Delivery", which is ideal for replies to letters to Santa. The kids' Christmas stamps, such as the penguin design, can carry a child's name so they can sign their own cards.

For a longer-lasting present, the Let it Snow Round Monogram Seal is an embossing seal you personalise with a name, address and monogram, and it's handy for envelopes, invitations and stationery. If you can't decide on a design, a stamp voucher lets the recipient create their own later.

Small businesses and crafters should also browse beyond Christmas. There are stamps for loyalty cards, packaging and 'handmade by' labels, as well as address and logo stamps. You can upload your own artwork if you already have a design.
