Winparts.ie: car parts, oil and winter kit from a Dutch specialist

Winparts is a Dutch car parts retailer founded in 2005 by brothers Ari and Meinard van Essen, who had been selling used BMW parts since the 1980s. Its Irish site, winparts.ie, has served drivers in Ireland since 2019. Prices are in euros, orders ship from the Netherlands, and Irish customer service is in English. UK drivers should note that this site doesn't list the UK as a delivery country. Winparts runs a separate UK site, winparts.co.uk.

The range covers most of what you need to keep a car running: brake discs and pads, filters, engine oil, lighting, cooling and suspension parts, exhausts and body panels. It also sells car care, towing and roof bars, winter gear and garage tools. You can search by registration or choose your make, model and engine. Winparts says its vehicle check shows only the parts that fit your car.

Much of the range is imported directly and kept in Winparts' own warehouse, and in-stock items show an expected delivery date on the product page. Delivery to Ireland usually takes about three working days, or four to the north-west. You can pay by card, PayPal or Klarna, and Klarna gives you 30 days to pay. Customer service runs from Monday to Saturday, and there's an Irish phone number, 056 771 9932.

For winter, the Snow chains 9mm KNS-100 are €38.62, and the shop sells car dehumidifiers to help with misted-up windows, such as the reusable 4Dry 1kg at €10.16. If you do your own servicing, Liqui Moly Top Tec 4200 5W30 C3 in a 5-litre can is €64.46. Check your handbook for the oil spec your car needs before you buy.

Current offers

• Advantage packages. Some items come as multi-packs, such as the 1 + 1 Pingi car dehumidifier 300g for €14.22.
• Free 30-day exchange. Car-specific parts ordered through the number plate or vehicle check can be swapped free of charge if they don't fit. Accessories such as roof boxes, bike carriers and wheel trims are excluded.

How to save more

• Put everything in one order. Delivery to Ireland costs €11.95 to €14.95 for normal parcels and €30 to €75 for bulky items, but it's charged only once per order whatever you buy.
• Always order through the vehicle check. It's what makes a part eligible for the free exchange, which saves you return postage if something doesn't fit.
• Check the delivery date on the product page. Some items, such as the Draper socket set, are on order and take several weeks.
