About HopeGoo
HopeGoo is the international travel booking brand of Tongcheng Travel, one of China's big online travel companies, which says it has served more than 300 million customers in China. The site and app let you book flights, hotels, Chinese high-speed rail tickets, ferry tickets, attraction tickets and local activities, and it highlights 1,000-plus routes and over 100 airlines.
Its strengths are travel in and around China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan: there are destination guides for cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Hangzhou and Guilin, China train booking, and e-tickets for things like the Hong Kong MTR Airport Express. It also lists hotels and flights worldwide.
Prices show in US dollars by default and you can switch currency; the price at payment is converted into the currency you pick. It takes Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Discover, Diners and UnionPay cards plus PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Alipay and WeChat Pay. Refunds on flights follow the airline's rules, minus any refund fee, and go back to the original payment method. New users can claim hotel and flight coupons, and the G-Coins rewards scheme earns credit on bookings.
