About Loch Electronics
Loch Electronics is an independent company founded in Edinburgh in 2019. It makes one thing: Capsule, a small countertop dishwasher designed for flats, small kitchens, campervans and boats. The first Capsule was launched through a Kickstarter campaign in 2021, and a cheaper model, Capsule Solo, followed on Kickstarter in 2024. The company now sells direct from its own website.
Capsule weighs about 12kg and has a built-in carry handle. Its main feature is an independent water tank, so it can be filled by hand rather than plumbed in, which is why it appeals to people living in vans or on boats. The standard Capsule can also connect to plumbing and use rinse aid, while Capsule Solo keeps to the tank. Loch says it takes a two-person load of plates, cups, a saucepan and cutlery in a 15-minute cycle, and that an optional Dual Tray lets you fit larger pots.
The shop also sells accessories such as a travel bag, a spare water tank and a plumbing hose, plus bundles and refurbished machines. UK delivery takes two to three working days and is free over £30, though it excludes the Scottish Islands, Isle of Man and Isles of Scilly. Read the returns terms before buying, as change-of-mind returns carry handling and shipping charges.
