Lyca Mobile is a mobile virtual network operator, which means it doesn't own its own masts but rents capacity from an established network. It was set up in 2006 by Allirajah Subaskaran, is based in the UK and now operates in 18 countries. Its focus has always been cheap international calling, so it is popular with people who phone family abroad.
In the UK it sells SIM-only plans that run for 30 days at a time, with no contract or credit check, and you can also choose 12 or 24-month plans that fix the price. The 30-day range runs from UK Plan Smart with 5GB of data, through National Plus (30GB), UK Plan Super Extra (75GB) and UK Plan Mega Plus (120GB), up to UK Plan Unlimited. Most plans include 100 international minutes to selected countries and some EU roaming data, with India and China roaming on certain plans. Unlimited allowances are subject to a fair usage policy.
You can order a physical SIM or an eSIM online; eSIMs must be activated in the UK. Several plans have introductory prices for new online customers, with half price or a reduced first month, after which the standard monthly price applies. Customer service is open 9am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday, and a chat assistant is available around the clock.
| Delivery | SIMs are ordered online; eSIMs are also available and must be activated in the UK. |

| Ways to pay | 30-day plans can be paid from top-up credit by text, or bought online; 12 and 24-month plans fix the price. |
