About Schuh
schuh is a footwear retailer based in Livingston, West Lothian. Sandy Alexander opened the first shop in Edinburgh's North Bridge Arcade in November 1981, aiming to bring fashionable footwear to shoppers outside London. The American footwear group Genesco bought the business in 2011, and it now has around 109 shops in the UK and Ireland.
schuh mainly sells branded trainers, shoes, boots and sandals for men, women and children, from more than 80 brands including Converse, Vans, Nike, adidas and UGG, alongside its own schuh label. It also has dedicated kids' shops and a school shoe range.
Online orders can be collected free from a schuh shop, and standard delivery is free on orders of £70 or more. Its returns window is unusually long: unused items can be returned within 365 days, though postal returns cost £3.99. The free SCHUH CLUB loyalty scheme gives a point per £1 and a £5 gift card for every 100 points, and students earn double points.
