About Yas Waterworld
Yas Waterworld is a water park on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates, about 15 minutes from Abu Dhabi International Airport and 50 minutes from Dubai. It opened in January 2013 and is run by Miral, the Abu Dhabi company behind the island's other theme parks, which include Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World and SeaWorld Yas Island. The park is themed around an Emirati legend of a lost pearl, with villages and rides that nod to the country's pearl-diving past.
The park says it now has more than 70 rides, slides and experiences across a range of thrill levels. Headline rides include Dawwama, which it calls the world's largest six-person tornado water coaster, the Amwaj wave pool and the Al Falaj Race duelling tube slide. There are also private cabanas, VIP packages and a Pearl Diving Experience where guests collect oysters from an underwater tank.
Tickets are sold online in UAE dirhams, and the park says buying online saves up to 10% compared with the gate. Multi-park tickets, 1 Day Any 2 Parks tickets and the Yas Annual Pass cover the other Yas Island parks too. Children aged three and under go free, and free Yas Express buses run to Yas Island from Dubai, Abu Dhabi and other emirates.
