Audible Standard for 99p a month for three months, plus a £10 bonus

Audible has cut its Standard membership to 99p a month for the first three months, and it's adding a £10 Audible bonus on top. Amazon calls it "This Season's Biggest Deal" and says it saves more than 80%. The offer is on Amazon's Audible pages until 28 December 2026. After the three months, the plan renews at £5.99 a month until you cancel.

What's happened

Amazon's Audible page now leads with "Join Audible Standard and get 3 months for £0.99 a month + £10 Audible bonus". The small print underneath says the plan "auto-renews at £5.99/mo. after 3 months. Cancel monthly. Offer ends 28 December, 2026."

Standard is Audible's cheaper plan. Each month you get one selection, which you can spend on any audiobook in the catalogue. Audible says the catalogue has 900,000 titles, including bestsellers and new releases. You also get Audible Originals, podcasts and a catalogue of series you can listen to as much as you like.

The £10 bonus is new to this offer. It shows up as a coupon in your Audible account and is taken off automatically when you buy an eligible title. It expires at 11:59pm on 31 January 2027, and any balance you haven't used by then is lost.

Who it's for

It's best for people who'd like to try audiobooks for the long winter evenings, a commute or long drives over Christmas, without paying full price to find out whether they stick with it. Audible doesn't spell out on the offer page who can join at this price. If you've been a member before, sign in first and check that the price shown is 99p before you confirm.

Two rules are worth knowing before you join. Your monthly selection doesn't roll over: if you don't pick a title by the end of the month, it's gone. And Audible says you keep the audiobooks you choose "for as long as you have a subscription". Read that before you count on keeping them after you cancel.

Worked example: what three months costs

• Three months at the usual £5.99: £17.97
• Three months on this offer: 3 × £0.99 = £2.97
• Saving on the membership: £15.00
• Plus the £10 bonus towards an extra audiobook

So for £2.97 you get three audiobooks of your choice, the listen-all-you-like catalogue, and £10 towards a fourth title you buy. If you stay on after the three months, it costs £5.99 a month, or £71.88 a year.

What to do now

1. Check the price before you confirm. Sign in to Amazon, open the Audible page and make sure it says 99p a month for three months.
2. Pick your first title straight away. Selections don't carry over, so use each month's before it renews.
3. Spend the £10 bonus before 31 January 2027. It's applied at checkout on an eligible audiobook. You can see it under Membership details in your account.
4. Choose the long ones. Your selection is worth the same whatever the book's price, so expensive or very long titles give you more for your money.
5. Decide by month three. Keep it at £5.99 a month or cancel before it renews. Remember what Audible says about keeping titles while you're subscribed.
