AHRPlus+ is a home repair membership run by All Home Repairs 24/7 Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales and based in Stockport. You don't get an in-house team. You pay a monthly fee, and AHRPlus+ finds you an independent local engineer for plumbing, heating, electrics and drainage, with no AHR callout or connection fee on member bookings. It suits homeowners who'd rather not ring round tradespeople when the boiler stops, and landlords with a handful of properties to look after.

Before you sign up, read the small print. The site says plainly that engineer labour, diagnosis, parts and other job charges are still payable. The "£0 callout" covers AHR's own fee, not the engineer's bill. What the membership does add is coordination, vetted engineers (Gas Safe registered for gas work) and a free annual boiler service for each registered property every 12 months.

What's worth a look

These are the plans and services on the AHRPlus+ site right now, with the prices it shows.

The home membership costs £14.99 a month, and the site says you can cancel before renewal. If you rent out a property, the landlord plans start at £24.99 a month for your own home plus one other property, then add £10 a month for each property from the third to the tenth. Portfolios of 11 or more get custom pricing. The landlord page has a calculator that compares your current costs with AHR's, and it assumes a standard boiler service costs £100.

The boilers page covers new boiler installation from £1,790, fitted by Gas Safe engineers at a fixed price from your postcode. The same page lists boiler service cover from £8.99 a month and one-off repair visits from £89. AHRPlus+ also has local pages for cities including Nottingham, Brighton, Cambridge, Oxford and Liverpool, each with its own phone line.

Current offers

We have one live code: BOILERS125 takes £125 off a new boiler installation. The boilers page shows the same "Save £125 with code BOILERS125" message next to its postcode quote form, so put the code in when you request your fixed-price quote. On a boiler installed from £1,790, that brings the starting price down to £1,665. We don't know of any discount on the monthly memberships at the moment.

How to save more

• Use the free annual boiler service. It's included with every registered property, and the site's own sums put a standard service at around £100, which covers a good part of a year's membership.
• Landlords should work out the per-property cost. The first two properties share £24.99, so a two-home plan costs less per property than two single memberships.
• Ask for an itemised price before any work starts. AHRPlus+ says parts are priced before fitting and qualifying workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months by the engineer, so get that in writing for bigger jobs.
