Angara is a jewellery brand built around coloured gemstones. Sapphires, rubies and emeralds sit alongside natural and lab-grown diamonds, set in gold, platinum and silver. The UK store prices everything in pounds, including VAT. Each design comes in a choice of stone size, quality grade and metal, so you can make a piece fancier or keep the cost down without changing the style.

It suits anyone buying a meaningful gift, an engagement ring or a birthstone piece who wants more choice than a high-street counter gives. There's also a growing range of men's jewellery and lab-grown stones for people who want the look for less.

What's worth a look

Here are six pieces from Angara's UK store, from an everyday silver chain to statement gold designs:

The Blue Sapphire Evil Eye Pendant is a good example of how Angara works. It's a small blue sapphire in a bezel setting, ringed with diamonds and sold on an 18-inch chain, and you can change the gold colour and stone grade on the page. If you already own a pendant, the plain Silver Chain at £59 is a cheap way to wear it more often. For something bigger, the lab-grown diamond men's signet ring sets an emerald-cut stone sideways across a tapered gold band. The emerald pendant with its diamond trio also comes with a free 18-inch cable chain, so it's ready to wear or give straight away.

Worth browsing too: the GIA certified collection if you want a grading report with your stone, and themed ranges such as Celestial and Aurora.

Current offers

  • Free gemstone gift: our current Angara offer is a free sapphire or pearl jewellery gift with every order using code GIFTOFJOY. The site's holiday banner currently offers a free lab ruby piece or natural Swiss blue topaz pendant with code HOLIDAYJOY, so use whichever code your basket accepts.
  • 12% off your first order: sign up on the Angara site to get the new-customer discount.
  • Sale prices: many pieces already show a reduced price next to a crossed-out one, such as the compass pendant at £1,880 (was £2,089).
  • Extended returns: Angara says holiday purchases qualify for extended returns.

How to save more

  • Play with the options on each product page. Dropping the stone size, picking a lab-grown stone or switching from platinum to 9ct gold can change the price a lot for the same design.
  • Look at the free gift before you check out. The free lab ruby solitaire pendant has a listed price of £219, so it's a real extra rather than a token.
  • Use the gift filters on the homepage (under £500, under £1,000 and so on) to keep within budget.
