Baseus: power banks, chargers and earbuds from a charging specialist

Baseus is a Shenzhen consumer electronics brand that has spent more than a decade making the small bits of kit most of us carry every day: power banks, chargers, cables and earbuds. It now also sells laptop docking stations, noise-cancelling headphones, outdoor security cameras, dash cams and car accessories. Its UK store shows prices in pounds, and orders go out through Amazon's logistics network.

It suits anyone who wants to cut down the number of chargers in a drawer or keep a phone and laptop going on the move without paying top-tier brand prices. A lot of the range uses GaN technology, which lets a fast charger stay small enough for a coat pocket.

What's worth a look

Here are six picks from the Baseus UK store, with prices as shown on its site when we checked.

The EnerGeek GP12 is the one to look at if you want a power bank that can top up a laptop as well as a phone: it holds 20,800mAh, puts out up to 145W and has four ports. For lighter days, the PicoGo AM52 is a 10,000mAh magnetic Qi2.2 bank that clips to the back of a compatible phone and also charges at 45W over USB-C.

On the audio side, the Bowie MC2 are open-ear earbuds with 11mm drivers, and the Inspire XH1 headphones list around 100 hours of playback with noise cancelling off. If you're after home security, the Security X1 Pro is a dual-lens outdoor camera with 3K resolution on each lens and an IP65 weather rating.

It's also worth checking the bundles page before buying a power bank and charger separately, as Baseus often pairs them at a lower price than the two items on their own.

Current offers

• Students get 15% off through Student Beans: verify on the Baseus site and you'll get a single-use code to enter at checkout.
• Several products have reduced prices on their product pages, such as the Security X1 Pro, shown at £179.99 against £279.99 when we checked. Prices change often, so check the product page on the day.

How to save more

• Look at the bundles first. Pairs such as a power bank with a wall charger, or a power bank with Bowie earbuds, are often priced well below the two items bought separately.
• Check the delivery charge at checkout. The shipping page gives its free-delivery threshold in euros rather than pounds, so the final basket is the place to confirm the cost.
• Keep your order confirmation. Baseus gives 18 to 24 months of warranty on products bought from it, and you'll need the sales record to make a claim.
