Global Delight is a software company from Udupi in south-west India, started in 2007, that makes audio, video and photo apps for Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android. It says more than 30 million people have used its apps. If you've ever wished your laptop speakers or headphones sounded fuller, or needed a simple way to record your screen for a tutorial or a work demo, this is a developer worth knowing about.

Its desktop apps are sold through its own web store, with prices on the homepage listed in US dollars, so UK buyers are buying from an overseas company. The phone apps are free to download from the App Store and Google Play, with in-app purchases for the extra features.

What's worth a look

Here are six apps from across the Global Delight range.

Boom 3D is the flagship: a system-wide sound enhancer for Mac and Windows that adds 3D surround effects, a bass boost and an equaliser to everything you play, whether that's music, films, games or streaming services, through any headphones. Capto is the one to look at if you make how-to videos or teach online. It combines screen recording, screenshots and a video and image editor, so you can record, crop, annotate and share without switching apps, and there are versions for both Mac and Windows.

For music fans, AuDimix for Windows separates vocals and instruments, which is handy for making karaoke or backing tracks, while AudiOn is a voice recorder and editor for iPhone and Android.

Current offers

We don't have any Global Delight discount codes at the moment. What you can get is a free 15-day trial of Boom 3D on Mac (macOS 11 or later) and Windows 10 and 11, and a free 15-day trial of Capto for Mac, so you can see how they work on your own computer before paying. Global Delight runs seasonal sales on its desktop apps through the year, and its newsletter is the place to hear about them first. We'll add any codes or sales here as soon as they appear.

How to save more

• Always use the free trial first. Global Delight's refund policy gives you 15 days to ask for a refund on purchases from its own store, but it can say no if the app doesn't run on your computer or you bought the wrong version.
• Check you're buying the Mac or Windows edition you need, as purchases for the wrong platform may not be refunded.
• If you have a discount code, enter it before you reach checkout: Global Delight says it won't apply discounts to orders already placed, or refund the difference if the price drops in a later sale.
