Moda in Pelle is a women's shoe brand based in Leeds, best known for leather and suede boots with a fashionable but wearable look. As well as its own designs, the online shop sells the Shoon range of mostly leather boots and shoes, plus trainers, sandals, bags and winter accessories. You'll also find it in a number of UK shops and in stockists such as John Lewis and Fenwick.

It suits anyone after a good pair of winter boots that will last more than one season, without paying designer prices. Most full-price boots sit between about £80 and £180, and the shop is easy to browse by boots, trainers, shoes and sandals.

What's worth a look

Here are six pieces from the current range, from boots to cosy extras.

The Rosemarey tan leather boots are a classic knee-high style with a 65mm wedge heel, a smooth lining and a leather footbed, so they're comfortable for a full day out. For something sharper, the Prismara dark brown suede boots have a pointed toe and a 60mm kitten heel at £89.95, and the Buzz biker boots add a buckled ankle strap and a sturdy 50mm block heel.

From the Shoon collection, the Imola black leather boots are a pull-on style made in Portugal, with elastic side panels and a pull tab. If you'd rather keep it flat, the Buttercupp trainers have a chunky flatform sole with a leather lining and footbed.
