Pleso Therapy is an online platform for one-to-one talking therapy by video. You fill in a short matching quiz, pick from three suggested therapists (or browse the full catalogue of profiles with video introductions), and book a 50-minute session that runs in your browser. It started in 2021, has grown across Ukraine, Poland and Romania, and now runs a UK service with UK-based therapists and prices in pounds. The company behind it, Pleso Therapy sp. z o.o., is registered in Poland and has a London correspondence address.
It suits adults who want to start private therapy without a GP referral or a long wait, and who would rather talk from home than travel to a practice. It is for individuals aged 18 and over, not couples, and it is not a crisis service: Pleso's own pages point anyone who needs urgent help to 999, NHS 111 (mental health option), Samaritans on 116 123 or the SHOUT text line on 85258.
Pleso says it accepts only around 15% of the therapists who apply. Each UK therapist has at least three years' post-qualification experience, belongs to a recognised body such as BACP, UKCP, HCPC, NCPS, COSRT or BABCP, holds an enhanced DBS check and has indemnity insurance, and their memberships are shown on their profile.
What's worth a look
The price per session depends only on how many you book, not on the therapist or approach, so you can filter the catalogue by the way of working that appeals to you. Here is the pay-as-you-go option and five of the approaches Pleso explains on its site:

- Bundles bring the price down from £79 a session: 4 sessions are £296 (£74 each), 12 are £768 (£64 each) and 24 are £1,416 (£59 each), which Pleso describes as a 25% saving. Bundles last 180 days.
- Subscriptions charge the same per-session rates and renew every 28, 84 or 168 days, and you can cancel in your account at any time.
- Veterans, NHS staff, teachers and other key workers can message the Care Team about special discounts.
How to save more
- Try one session with START40 before committing to a bundle. Bundles and subscriptions are non-refundable, although unused sessions can be rescheduled and the Care Team can extend a bundle's 180 days.
- Cancel at least 24 hours ahead and the session returns to your balance rather than being lost. You can also reschedule once, up to 12 hours before.
- If the first therapist doesn't feel right, switch once for free instead of buying a new bundle: your remaining sessions carry over.
Payment is by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay through Stripe; PayPal isn't accepted. Pleso's therapists don't diagnose or prescribe medication, so speak to your GP about any medical concerns.
