Sheds.co.uk sells garden buildings online, from small tool sheds to log cabins and insulated garden rooms. It's run by Sixty Stores Ltd, the Stratford-upon-Avon company behind RattanGardenFurniture.co.uk, and it stocks brands including Adley, Holt, Hartwood, Redlands and Loxley. Delivery is free to most UK postcodes, and there's a show site near Stratford you can visit by appointment.

It suits anyone who needs more storage, a workshop or a summer house, and it's handy for comparing styles side by side: apex, reverse apex, pent and Dutch barn roofs, overlap or shiplap cladding, and pressure-treated timber that doesn't need a yearly coat of treatment.

What's worth a look

Here are six buildings from the current range, with sale prices as shown today.

The Holt 6' x 8' Pressure Treated Shiplap Modular Apex Shed stands out on value: it's £632 instead of £906, with an 18mm pressure-treated floor and a 15-year anti-rot guarantee. If you'd like somewhere to sit rather than store things, the Hartwood Life Time 8' x 6' Summer House is £721, down from £867, and has a 25-year anti-rot guarantee.

If you need a proper workspace, the Adley 10' x 10' Premium Double Door Shiplap Modular Apex Workshop is £1,314, down from £1,629, with double doors for wheeling in bikes or a mower. The Adley 8' x 8' Dutch Barn has a taller, two-pitch roof that gives more headroom for shelving, and it's £1,039 instead of £1,319. Beyond sheds, the site also sells log cabins in several wall thicknesses, home office cabins, bespoke cabins built to your size and insulated garden rooms for use all year round.

Current offers

• Autumn Sale: up to 30% off Adley garden sheds, such as the Adley 6' x 4' Shiplap Apex Shed at £397 instead of £470.
• Holt promotion: Holt modular sheds are reduced, and the homepage says timber bases are half price with them.
• Newsletter discount: sign up to the Sheds.co.uk newsletter for a discount on your first order. The page doesn't say how much.
• Free delivery: free UK delivery to most postcodes. Any charge for your area shows at checkout.

How to save more

• Sort out the base at the same time as the shed. A level base is essential, and the Holt half-price base offer or the base preparation service saves arranging it separately.
• Compare floors as well as prices. Cheaper sheds often use 9mm OSB floors, while others have 12mm tongue-and-groove or 18mm pressure-treated boards, which matter if you're storing a mower or tools.
• Pressure-treated buildings cost more up front but don't need annual re-treatment to keep their anti-rot guarantee, which saves on wood preserver over the years.
• For larger buildings, ask about finance to spread the cost, or book a visit to the show site to compare cladding and roofing before you commit.
