YesBobbleheads: custom bobbleheads made from your photos

YesBobbleheads turns your photos into a hand-sculpted bobblehead. You upload pictures, pick a ready-made body or ask for a fully custom design, and its artists make a polyresin figure in 7-inch or 9-inch sizes. It's a gift for the person who's hard to buy for: a golfer, a newly married couple, a retiring boss or the family dog. The contact address is in New York, but UK visitors can see prices in pounds and the company ships worldwide.

There are two ways to order. Themed bodies cover sports, jobs, music, weddings, families, kids, military and Christmas, and you supply the face. Head-to-toe figures are sculpted entirely from your photos, including clothes and pose. Either way, unlimited proofing is included: you're emailed photos of the sculpt and then the paintwork, and can ask for changes before accepting.

A few practical points help. The likeness depends heavily on your photos, so send several clear, well-lit shots from the front and side, and full-body pictures for head-to-toe figures so the artists can copy the outfit. Payment is by card, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Amazon Pay, and there's a separate damage claim process if a figure arrives broken.

What's worth a look

Six designs to give an idea of the range, with starting prices as shown to UK visitors.

Themed bodies are the cheaper route: the Golfer In The Tee Box starts at £70.89, and the seasonal Santa Claus Holding Gift Bag design is £97.47. A fully custom single figure starts at £106.34, the same as the pet dog version, and a custom couple is £212.68. UK shipping is extra (£13.28 for one figure, £22.15 for a couple at the time of writing), and product prices don't include tax, so import VAT may be added.

Current offers

We don't have any YesBobbleheads codes of our own yet. When we checked in late October, the homepage was running an autumn banner offering 15% off with code FALL15, with no end date shown. Seasonal codes like this change, so check the homepage for the current one before you order.

How to save more

• Choose a themed body rather than head-to-toe if the pose already fits; it can save a good chunk compared with a fully custom figure.
• Order early. Economy sculpting takes four to six weeks before shipping, and the faster options cost $20 to $100 extra, so leaving it late for Christmas gets expensive.
• Get the photos right first time with clear, well-lit shots (full-body for head-to-toe figures) to avoid extra rounds of proofing.
• Ordering several figures? The site has a bulk order enquiry form for groups, teams and corporate gifts.
