If you send parcels from a spare room, run an Etsy shop or manage a warehouse, labels are one of those costs that creep up. Zolemba is a label maker based in Haaksbergen in the Netherlands, trading since 2008, with a UK site priced in pounds. It sells blank labels that fit popular label printers, shipping labels sized for UK couriers, the printers themselves, and custom printed labels made to order.

Most customers are businesses, and the product pages show prices both with and without VAT, so check which figure you're looking at. Stock labels come in packs, and the site says most orders ship the same day if they are complete by 3pm. Printed labels are produced within five working days.

What's worth a look

These pages cover the everyday labels most small sellers need, plus the bigger buys if you're setting up or scaling up.

For Royal Mail sellers, the Royal Mail labels page has 102mm x 150mm thermal rolls that fit Zebra-style printers, from £3.41 ex VAT for 300 labels. If you print address labels on a Dymo LabelWriter, the compatible 99012 rolls are £2.14 including VAT. Not got a printer yet? The Royal Mail starter package pairs a Zebra ZD421D with 12 rolls of labels, so you know everything fits.

If you need more than plain labels, Zolemba also prints custom labels through an online configurator. That covers beer, wine and food labels, product stickers and warning labels for dangerous goods. These are made to order, and the site says printed orders are produced within five working days. Customer service handles English and several other languages, and the UK site has a UK phone number for questions about sizes or printer compatibility. That's worth using before you buy a large batch of rolls, because core size and label width have to match your printer.

Current offers

We don't have any Zolemba voucher codes in our feed right now. The site has two things worth knowing about:

• A free printed labels sample package, listed at £0.00, so you can check print quality before ordering custom labels.
• Pallet deals for heavy users, such as 960 rolls of 102mm x 150mm shipping labels for £2,450 ex VAT.

How to save more

• Compare prices per label rather than per pack. Bigger packs and 76mm-core rolls for industrial printers bring the price per label down.
• Remember that listing prices exclude VAT. If you aren't VAT-registered, add 20% when comparing with other shops.
• Buy compatible rather than branded rolls. Zolemba makes labels to fit Dymo, Zebra and Brother printers, and the compatible Dymo 99012 rolls cost a couple of pounds.
