About Lush
Lush is a cosmetics company based in Poole, Dorset. It was founded in 1995 by Mark and Mo Constantine with Rowena Bird, Helen Ambrosen, Liz Bennett and Paul Greeves, after their earlier mail-order business, Cosmetics To Go, had closed. The first shop opened on Poole High Street, and the brand now trades in many countries, with manufacturing in Poole and other sites abroad.
Lush makes its own bath bombs, bubble bars, soaps, shampoo bars, skincare, haircare, body care, fragrance and make-up, many of them handmade with fresh ingredients. Mo Constantine is credited with inventing the shampoo bar, the bath bomb and the bubble bar. Many products are sold without packaging, and the rest come in recyclable pots, such as the black pots that can be brought back to shops.
Lush has shops across the UK, where staff offer product consultations and samples. Online, UK standard delivery costs £3.95 and is free over £50, or you can buy a £15 Delivery Pass for a year of free standard delivery. Click and Collect is available in all UK and Ireland shops, usually ready within 24 hours. Five clean black pots returned to a shop can be swapped for a free fresh face mask.
