About Subway
Subway started in 1965 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, as Pete's Super Submarine Sandwiches, founded by Fred DeLuca and Peter Buck. It became one of the largest restaurant chains in the world, and its first UK restaurant opened in Brighton in 1996. The business is now owned by Roark Capital Group, with its headquarters in Shelton, Connecticut.
Restaurants make subs, wraps and salads to order, and the UK menu now includes Spudway jacket potatoes and a lower-priced Saver Subs range. You can order ahead for collection in the Subway app, buy at the counter or kiosk, or have food delivered through Just Eat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo, although promotional prices and vouchers do not apply to delivery orders.
Subway Rewards is free to join and gives you 10% back in Subway Cash on qualifying purchases made in the app or by scanning your QR code in a restaurant. You can spend it in £1 steps, up to £40 per order, and hold up to £50 at a time. Each amount expires six months after you earn it, so it rewards regular visits more than occasional ones. Members also get a birthday present and early access to offers.
