Arena Collection: Istrian beach hotels, glamping and city breaks

Arena Collection is the direct booking site of Arena Hospitality Group, a hotel company based in Pula, Croatia. It brings together beach hotels, apartment resorts, campsites, mobile homes and glamping on the Istrian coast with city hotels in Zagreb, Berlin, Cologne, Nuremberg, Budapest and Belgrade, plus a ski hotel in the Austrian Alps. Prices are shown in euros, and booking direct carries no booking fee.

For UK travellers it's mainly a way to book a summer in Istria, whether that's a family hotel near the beach, a self-catering apartment or a campervan pitch by the sea, or a city break at a Park Plaza or art'otel. It suits families, couples and campers, and anyone happy to plan ahead, because the biggest offers reward early and longer stays.

What's worth a look

Here are six places to stay, from a beachfront hotel to a seaside campsite.

Park Plaza Histria is a good fit for families: it sits on the Verudela peninsula with pebble beaches 50 metres away, indoor and outdoor pools and a kids' playground, and Pula's Roman amphitheatre is minutes away. On the Early Booking Hotels offer for summer 2027 it is listed from 131 € per unit, while Grand Hotel Brioni, the group's most upmarket Pula hotel, starts from 245 €.

If you'd rather sleep under canvas without roughing it, Arena One 99 in Medulin Bay has 199 fully equipped glamping tents by the water, with a spa, hot tubs and beach bars. Self-caterers should look at the apartment resorts such as Arena Verudela Beach, from 103 € per unit on the long-stay offer. For a city break, Park Plaza Budapest sits on the Danube opposite the Parliament building, with works by the American artist Donald Sultan throughout; its Plan & Save offer starts from 95 € a night.
