et al. is a makeup brand from iiaa, the London company behind the International Institute for Active Ageing, which says it has spent more than 30 years working in skin health. The brand was dreamed up by a scientist and a makeup artist, and the name means "and more": the idea is that each product carries skincare ingredients at working levels as well as doing its job as makeup.
It is a short range rather than a huge catalogue, which makes it easy to get your head around. You will find foundations, a concealer, two primers, a face mist, lip liners and balms, and cheek and eye colours that come as refills for reusable compacts. The brand says its formulas are vegan and dermatologist tested. It suits anyone who wants a simple routine from one brand, likes the idea of refills over throwaway packaging, or has struggled to find a foundation shade online.

The Intelligent Skin Radiant Foundation SPF 15 is the one to start with if you want a glowy, buildable base, and the Radiant Foundation Makeup Kit builds a set around it for £73. If you are unsure of your shade, the free Foundation Shade Finder asks a few questions about your skin and points you to a foundation and concealer match.
The cheek and eye side of the range works on a refill system. Blush, bronzer and complexion glow shades are sold as refills (£24 to £30) that click into a reusable compact or palette, so once you own one you only buy the colour. The new Peptide + Lip Complex is part of a layered "lip stack" with the lip liners and gloss balms.
For skin prep, the two primers double as serums: the Radiant Primer is aimed at adding glow, while the Mattifying Primer gives a matte finish, and both cost £38. The 3-In-1 Face Mist hydrates and sets makeup, and there is a smaller 45ml version for £20 if you want to try it or keep one in your bag. Lip liners come in a good spread of shades at £22 each, with several new colours added this season.
