The Organic Pharmacy started life as a pharmacy in London in 2002, co-founded by pharmacist Margo Marrone, and has grown into a skincare brand with its own spa and clinic on Cadogan Gardens in Chelsea. It is now part of Istituto Ganassini, the Italian dermatological company, and it is still a registered pharmacy with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

The brand says its products contain up to 99.8% organic ingredients and are dermatologist tested. It suits people who want natural-leaning skincare with a pharmacist's background, and anyone who likes to shop by ingredient: you can browse by vitamin C, retinol, bakuchiol, niacinamide or hyaluronic acid, or follow one of its ready-made routines for dry, sensitive or oily skin.

What's worth a look

These six are from the brand's bestsellers, at the prices shown on the UK site today.

The Carrot Butter Balm Cleanser is one of the brand's best-known products, a balm that melts off makeup, and the Rose Rejuvenating Face Cream is a long-standing favourite. If you want to try a few things at once, the gift sets page has kits from £12.50, several of them priced well below their usual price.

The serums are where the ingredient-led approach shows most. The Triple Molecular Hyaluronic Acid Serum (£39, 30ml) uses several molecular weights of hyaluronic acid for hydration, the 5% Niacinamide Ultra 5 Serum is aimed at brightening and pores, and there are vitamin C and retinol night serums too. For everyday wear, the Vitamin Protection Face Cream is a light moisturiser with carrot and calendula. Beyond skincare, the site sells body care, mineral suncare, supplements, tinctures and e-gift cards, and you can book treatments at the Chelsea clinic.
