Happyology is a British childrenswear brand founded in England in 2016 by Jessie, a Cambridge science and engineering graduate who came up with the idea while dressing her younger sister. It started with boutiques in Brighton, Leamington Spa and Bath and now sells online to customers around the world.

The look is English garden: hand-drawn floral prints with names like Wisteria Garden, Wildflower Polka and Cornwall Meadow, plus hand-smocking, broderie anglaise and embroidery stitched in-house. Sizes run from 6 months to 9 years across baby, girls' and boys' ranges. It's the kind of shop grandparents and godparents bookmark for christening, party and Christmas outfits, but there's plenty of everyday knitwear too.

What's worth a look

Six pieces from the current autumn and winter range, with prices as shown when we checked:

The Abigail hand-smocked dress is a good example of what the brand does best, with smocking and embroidery on a cream floral print. For something warmer, the Edinburgh Fair Isle cardigan is 95% cotton and 5% cashmere, sized from 12 months to 7 years.

Each product page lists the fabric composition and a size chart, which is handy because the fabrics vary: organic cotton linings, merino and cotton knits, velvet and tulle. The brand checks its fits on 3D mannequins during design and production. Beyond clothes, the accessories section has bonnets, hair clips, socks, tights and party pieces, and some prints run across several items, so you can put together a matching outfit or sibling set. There's also a gift-wrapping service if you're sending a present straight to the family.

Current offers

We don't have any Happyology codes yet, but the shop has two standing offers:

  • Sign up to the newsletter and you'll get 10% off your first order by email.
  • UK delivery by tracked DHL Express is £8, and free on orders over £85. Orders placed before 1pm UK time usually leave the same day and arrive in 2 to 4 working days.

Sending a gift abroad? Overseas orders include duties and taxes, so there's nothing for the recipient to pay on delivery.

How to save more

  • Use the 10% welcome discount on a larger order, such as a dress and cardigan together, which can also take you past the £85 free-delivery threshold.
  • Sizes are "up to" an age and height, and the brand suggests sizing up if your child is between sizes, which gives you more wear from each piece.
  • If you're not sure of a size, the e-gift card saves the cost and hassle of returning something.
