Harrison Holidays is a family business that started with one touring caravan bought in the 1970s. The first park followed in 1980, and today the Harrison family runs eleven holiday parks stretching from Loch Lomond in Scotland to the Suffolk countryside, with clusters around Southport and Lancashire. It suits families, couples and dog owners after a self-catering UK break with a bar, restaurant or play park on site, as well as anyone thinking about buying a static caravan.

Accommodation varies by park: caravans, lodges (many with private hot tubs), glamping pods and hives, apartments and a farmhouse that sleeps eight, plus touring pitches at several parks. Prices depend on dates and are shown when you search the booking form, so it's worth trying a few arrival days.

What's worth a look

Six of the parks you can book a holiday at, each with a different setting:

Wild Rose in Cumbria's Eden Valley sits in an official Dark Sky Discovery Site, has a newer entertainment complex and runs a full Christmas programme with parties, a grotto and a Christmas Day dinner. For a seaside base, Riverside is close to Southport's pier and beach and to some of England's best-known links golf courses. The newest addition, Ardlui on the banks of Loch Lomond, has a hotel and marina as well as holiday accommodation. Percy Wood puts you about 15 minutes from Alnwick Castle in Northumberland's Dark Sky Reserve.

Current offers

Holidays are secured with a £25 deposit, with the balance due 28 days before arrival. At Riverside, Wild Rose and Percy Wood, children under 12 eat free from the kids' menu when an adult buys a main-menu meal; there's no code, just look for the Kids Eat Free symbol. The Special Offers page also groups lodge, caravan, hot tub, glamping and apartment breaks, so check it before booking. If you're looking at buying a holiday home, VIP park tours are free.

How to save more

  • Pick Riverside, Wild Rose or Percy Wood if you have young children and plan to eat on site, so their meals come free.
  • Bring a card: the parks are cashless outside the bars and restaurants, and American Express isn't accepted.
  • Glamping pods and hives at Wild Rose and Royal Umpire are a cheaper way to stay than a lodge, and dogs are welcome in pet-friendly units.

Booking terms, cancellation charges and pet rules are on the terms and conditions page, and the booking line is 01704 215446, open 9am to 5pm daily.
