SmallRig makes accessories that help you build a camera into a shooting rig: cages, top handles, quick-release plates, grips, battery plates, tripods and lighting. Most cages are designed for one specific camera body, and they add mounting points for monitors, microphones and lights.

It suits video creators, wedding and event shooters, and anyone who has started filming on a mirrorless camera and needs somewhere to hang a mic or a monitor. There's plenty for stills photographers too, such as thumb grips and leather half cases for compact cameras. The UK store prices everything in pounds and runs its own member scheme.

What's worth a look

Here are six SmallRig products from the UK store. Many come in more than one kit, and these are the lowest listed prices.

If you shoot on a Sony FX3 or FX30, the Cage Kit for Sony FX30 / FX3 starts at £171.90. It adds a foldable V-mount battery plate for all-day power, an HDMI cable clamp, a NATO rail and a top handle, and it has a built-in Arca-Swiss plate so you can move from a gimbal to a tripod without rebalancing. A7 IV and A7 V users can look at the "Rhinoceros" cage kit from £90.90, while the HawkLock quick-release cage kit for the A6700 starts at £54.90.

Fujifilm X100VI owners get two cheaper add-ons: a thumb grip at £16.90 for a steadier hold, and a retro leather case kit with a half case, flip cover and shoulder strap from £49.90. Panasonic shooters have a cage that fits the LUMIX S5 II, S5 IIX, S1R II and G9 II for £54.90, which is handy if you run more than one LUMIX body or plan to upgrade later. Each product page lists exactly which cameras a cage or grip is made for, along with the different kit bundles and what comes in each one, so it is worth reading the compatibility notes before you add anything to your basket.
