Caledonian Travel is a coach holiday company with deep Scottish roots. The brand traces back more than 30 years as a Glasgow coach holiday operator, and today it is run by Caledonian Leisure, a company set up in 2021 by former managers of the Caledonian Travel and National Holidays brands after their previous parent went into administration. Tartan Travel has since joined the group and now trades under the Caledonian name.
Its holidays are built around reserved-seat coach travel with hotel stays, usually on a bed and breakfast or dinner, bed and breakfast basis, plus included excursions. The range covers Scottish favourites such as Oban, Fort William, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, tours elsewhere in Britain and Ireland, coach trips into Europe and mystery weekends where you don't know the destination until you arrive. Departures run from pick-up points across Scotland, including Glasgow, Edinburgh, Bathgate, Halbeath, Paisley and Hamilton, and from the North East of England and Yorkshire.
Many breaks can be secured with a low deposit, and the company says customer money is held in a trust account and bonded with ABTOT. You can book online, by phone or in person at its Glasgow travel centre, and holiday insurance is sold alongside.
