About Stardock
Stardock is a software company, founded in 1991, that began on IBM's OS/2 and moved to Windows after the OS/2 market collapsed in the late 1990s. Its site sells Windows desktop utilities including Object Desktop, Start11, Fences, Groupy, Multiplicity, DeskScapes, ObjectDock, WindowBlinds, AltTabby and Snipboard, along with a newer AI product, Clairvoyance.
It also makes and publishes PC strategy games, among them Galactic Civilizations IV, Sins of a Solar Empire II, Ashes of the Singularity II, Offworld Trading Company and Star Control, and runs Stardock Publishing for other developers. The utilities suit people who want to reshape Windows, with a different Start menu, tidier desktop icons, grouped window tabs or multi-PC control, while the games are for fans of big space and strategy titles.
Everything is digital, so you buy online, create a Stardock account and retrieve your product keys there. The pages we could read did not show prices or currency for the products, so check each product page before buying. Stardock has a separate Return Policy document listed on its policies page, and a support site covering accounts, sales, refunds and payment methods. Phone and email sales and support run Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm Eastern time, so UK customers should expect delays. The company is based in Plymouth, Michigan.
