How do we tell a genuine price drop from a fake one?

A genuine price drop means the product was sold at a higher price recently and is now cheaper. On a verified drop we show "Was £X until [date]": the store charged that price for at least 7 of the 28 days before the drop. Be wary of RRP comparisons on their own, because an RRP is not proof the item ever sold at that price; where all we have is an RRP we label it RRP and never cross it out. Check the previous price, the date, and the same product at other UK retailers before buying.

How can I tell if a UK price drop is a genuine discount?

Check the previous price and the date it applied, not just the RRP. A real drop means the item sold for more recently. Voucher Magpie shows "Was £X until [date]" on every verified price drop and checks prices daily from store feeds.

Where can I find current price drops on home appliances?

Are TV price drops worth waiting for?

Often, around Black Friday and when new models launch. Compare the current price with the verified "was" price and the date it applied before you buy. Our tech and electronics price drops includes TVs.
