Fotopro is a photography brand that has been designing and making tripods for more than 20 years, with its office and factory in Zhongshan in southern China. Its online shop is run by Fotopro (HK) International Co., Limited, and lists warehouses in the US, Germany and Manchester. UK visitors see prices in pounds.

The shop suits anyone who wants a proper tripod without paying for the big European names: travellers after something light enough to carry all day, wildlife and bird photographers who need a gimbal head for long lenses, and phone and vlogging users who just want a sturdy mini tripod. You can browse by type or by use, from astrophotography and birding to product shots and street photography.

What's worth a look

These six cover travel, heavy-duty, wildlife and everyday use, with prices as shown to UK visitors.

For travel, the X-Aircross 3 Lite Grey is one of the shop's best sellers. It's a carbon fibre tripod that reaches 62 inches and folds to under 16 inches, so it fits in a carry-on bag. If you shoot with heavier kit, the Origin Plus uses profile carbon fibre legs and a large ball head and is rated for loads of up to 20kg, while still folding down to 50cm.

Wildlife and bird photographers should look at the E-6H Gimbal Head, which takes up to 10kg and is built for balancing long lenses while you track a moving subject. At the other end of the scale, the FY-820 mini tripod extends to around 152cm and can double as a selfie stick for phones and small cameras. Small extras like the QAL50 Arca-Swiss quick release plate are worth adding if you swap cameras between tripods. Each product page lists the maximum height, folded length, weight and load rating, so it's easy to compare models side by side. As a rule of thumb, pick a tripod rated well above the weight of your heaviest camera and lens combination, as that keeps it steady in wind.

Current offers

We don't have any Fotopro discount codes yet. When we checked, the site was running a storewide 6% off banner, and many tripods were shown below their regular prices, such as the X-Airfly Grey at £152 against £167. These prices can change, so check the product page before you buy.

How to save more

  • Check the currency selector shows GBP so you're paying in pounds rather than having a dollar price converted by your card.
  • Compare the Lite and standard versions of each series: the Lite models are lighter and often cheaper if you don't need the extra load capacity.
  • Keep your order details safe: tripods and heads come with a two-year warranty, accessories one year.
