About HRS
HRS (Hotel Reservation Service) is a hotel booking portal run from Cologne, Germany by HRS GmbH. It has long focused on business travel, describes itself as one of the top three hotel portals in Europe, and now also sells corporate booking, payment, expense and VAT-reclaim tools to large companies; it says 35% of Fortune 500 firms work with it. The consumer site is available in English, German, French, Italian and Japanese.
For individual travellers the draw is the free myHRS membership. Members get negotiated rates with savings of up to 50% at participating hotels, automatic rebooking if the price drops, free late check-out and room upgrades where available, and miles or points with programmes such as Miles & More and BahnBonus. Only hotels bookable for your dates are shown, with availability checked in real time, and guest-only ratings help you choose.
Booking works like most portals. Prices are usually per room per night, breakfast and parking can cost extra, and many rates are paid at the hotel while others need prepayment. Standard bookings can often be cancelled free until 6pm on the day of arrival, though this depends on the rate. HRS accepts credit cards, Google Pay and Apple Pay. The pages we read did not show a pound option, so check the currency shown before you book.
